3 Days Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour
Note: This 3 days desert tour starts and ends in Marrakech. The itinerary is flexible and can be customized according to your travel preferences.
Your 3-day desert tour begins in Marrakech with an early morning departure toward the High Atlas Mountains. You will cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way to admire panoramic mountain views and traditional Berber villages.
You will then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages and a filming location for many international movies. After lunch near Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” you continue through the Valley of Roses and Skoura Oasis before arriving in Dades Valley, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a charming hotel.
After breakfast, the journey continues toward the impressive Todra Gorge, with its towering canyon walls and refreshing river. You will have free time to walk through the gorge and take photos.
In the afternoon, you travel through desert towns and fossil areas until reaching Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, you will meet your camels and begin a magical camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset.
Upon arrival at your desert camp, you will enjoy traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a peaceful night in a private tent under the stars of the Sahara.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast in the camp, you return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village.
You then start the return journey to Marrakech, passing through Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains once again. You will arrive in Marrakech in the evening, where your 3-day desert adventure ends.
